Solution A (for few employees): push principle
Common
This can be easily implemented with just a single sync.blue® account. Create initially a sync.blue® connection for the first employee.
Then create a new connection for each employee. The source does not have to be authorized again, but can simply be selected.
The contacts are thus "pushed" into the respective employee account.
Via Microsoft 365 / Exchange
If you want to synchronize the same source with the Exchange contacts of several colleagues, "Microsoft 365 - Shared Mailbox" can also be selected as the target and the respective e-mail address of the employee can be stored in the "Advanced Settings" of the sync connection. This means that colleagues do not have to authenticate themselves personally in the sync.blue® dashboard. Of course, the prerequisite is read/write rights for the authorized Microsoft 365 Exchange user.
Solution B (for many employees): pull principle
Since it would be cumbersome for large organizations to manually create a connection per employee to create, we recommend a different approach here: with only one sync.blue® connection, the contacts are being synced from any source into one single destination, which is then made available for all employees:
Via Microsoft 365 / Exchange
Microsoft Exchange has various options for making contacts available to multiple employees in a central location:
- Exchange Public Folder
- Shared mailbox (contacts of a specific user)
Exchange can be configured by the administrator in such a way that certain (or even all) Exchange users in the company can access the shared contacts.
Via CardDAV
Contact source (e.g. Microsoft GAL) --> CardDAV (hosted by sync.blue®, third-party or on-premises with e.g. Radicale or Baïkal) --(Mobile Device Management)--> Employee smartphones (e.g. Apple iPhone / Google Android)
With the help of a mobile device management solution, this CardDAV account can be used by anyone employees are automatically provisioned on the smartphones.
