Solution 1: via CardDAV
Setup
On the iPhone:
- Open Settings -> Contacts -> Accounts -> Add Account -> Add CardDAV account
- Enter:
- Server: directory.sync.blue
- Username: API_KEY (replace with your own API Key, which is displayed when setting up a sync.blue® connection)
- Password: API_KEY (as in Username)
- Description: sync.blue
- Advanced Settings
- Use SSL: yes
- Port: 443
- Account URL: https://directory.sync.blue/API_KEY
Distribution of CardDAV credentials with Microsoft Intune
Instead of manually entering the CardDAV access data provided by sync.blue® into each end device, it can be distributed fully automatically to any number of end devices with Microsoft Intune. Hints
- The synchronized contacts are located on the iPhone under Phone -> Contacts -> Lists -> sync.blue.
Prompt the iPhone to synchronize the address book immediately by creating or deleting a temporary contact on the iPhone in the CardDAV address book. - Get iPhone to sync address book immediately by create a temporary contact on the iPhone in the CardDAV address book or deletes.
- Make sure that the iPhone is sufficiently charged, otherwise it will be in power saving mode no contacts are synchronized.
- You can test how with this command line command (example for macOS). You can quickly download the CardDAV address book from your network:
curl -u "API_KEY:API_KEY" https://directory.sync.blue/ API_KEY /addressbook > ~/Desktop/API_KEY.addressbook
Solution 2: via Apple iCloud
Use the "Apple iCloud" application to synchronize contacts with the iPhone. The prerequisite is that iCloud contacts have been activated on the iPhone.
Solution 3: via Microsoft 365 / Windows Live
After adding the account, the contacts are natively synchronized with the smartphone including subfolders.
