How do I synchronize my contacts with a Gigaset DECT phone?

The Gigaset DECT bases can use telephone books from remote servers, e.g. to the sync.blue® Directory, read. 

 

Model Setup Tested with firmware
Gigaset N510

Open the address of the DECT base in the browser, e.g. http://192.168.2.100 and log you. 

Open the menu item Settings -> Phone books -> Corporate phone book and enter:

  • Phone book name: sync.blue
  • Server address: http://directory.sync.blue/contacts/SECRET/gigaset/v1
  • Username:blank
  • Password:blank
  • Select phone book: X
  • Automatic caller name lookup:Yes

Known Limitations

  • The contacts are only sent from the sync.blue® directory via HTTP (unencrypted) provided because some DECT bases use HTTPS (encrypted communication) not technically supported.
  • Technically, only one number (e.g. 1x office, 1x mobile) can be assigned per number type. to be provided.
