How do I additionally secure access to my sync.blue® MOBILE Storage?

The sync.blue® MOBILE Storage (CardDAV-compatible) is by default protected by HTTPS encryption as well as login via username and password.

For additional security requirements, access can be further restricted. To do this, an IP whitelist can be set up. In this case, logins are only accepted from previously approved networks.

Setting up an IP whitelist

If desired, individual public IP addresses or entire networks (CIDR subnets) can be approved for access.

Simply send a request to service@sync.blue and provide the IP addresses or networks to be approved.

Typical use cases

A) Access only from the corporate network

If the company has fixed public IP addresses, access to sync.blue® MOBILE Storage can be allowed exclusively from the corporate network. Connections from other networks will be automatically blocked.

B) Access only via the corporate VPN

Alternatively, access can be restricted to the public IP address of a corporate VPN solution. Mobile devices first connect to the corporate VPN.

Additionally, the VPN configuration can be set up so that connections to sync.blue® MOBILE Storage only occur through the VPN tunnel. Access will then only be accepted if the connection is made both with the correct login credentials and via the approved VPN exit address.
