How do I distribute CardDAV access data via Apple Configurator?

1. Create a new profile or edit an existing one and select the menu item "Contacts" on the left:

2. Add this profile to the desired Apple devices.

3. Check whether the new CardDAV contact list can be found on the Apple device (usually an iPhone) under Contacts -> Lists (top left) -> <Name of account description>.
