When syncing contacts from a Public Folder in Microsoft is an important limitation: Microsoft enforces a rate limit for accessing Public Folders. If this folder is synced directly to many user mailboxes, there may be delays or errors from Microsoft.
To avoid this problem, the following procedure is recommended:
Step 1: Sync the Public Folder into the sync.blue® address book
First, set up a connection in the sync.blue® dashboard that uses the Public Folder as the source.
The contacts will then be transferred into the sync.blue® address book.
This reduces the load on Microsoft's rate limit, as only one connection accesses the Public Folder.
Step 2: Sync the sync.blue® address book into multiple Exchange user mailboxes
Next, create a second connection.
This uses the sync.blue® address book as the source and syncs the contacts into the desired Exchange user mailboxes.
This ensures stable and high-performance synchronization.
Advantage of this method
✅ The Microsoft rate limit is observed.
✅ Synchronization remains reliable even when many mailboxes are connected.
